Print ad draft

Image
Richard - Looks bright and attractive - has every aspect that a print ad should have - Too basic  - Link towards other advertisement Changes Due to the feedback that I had received, I will consider keeping the colour scheme as it is the same colour used for the packaging. Also, I will include more things on the print ad, such as more text around it, which would be phrases to describe the chocolate itself. Maria - More details on the poster - Add a shadow onto the flake - More effects on the Flake image - Add more information of the campaign Changes After the feedback that I had received, I will add some information about the chocolate, such as adding a sentence at the bottom of the poster and having some phrases around the chocolate to describe it. Also, I  will keep the colour scheme of the background to match the colour of the packaging

Feedback Anniel  From the footage that I have shown which was the rough copy of my advert, what I have done well is that I managed to get a clear shot of the main product itself.  Also, I would need to make sure that I add some graphics at the beginning of the ad I could add some upbeat music  Changes -  due to the feedback that I have received, I will consider these feedbacks that I have received, which is to maybe add some music Richard  I could add in some graphics around the beginning of the ad to ensure that the audience could have an idea of what the actual product is.  add some background music sound effects when he is distracted try and increase the volume off dialogue but decrease when music is played Changes  Considering the feedback that I had received, I will add some music in the background, preferably when the chocolate first appears as it is the main focus. However, I will not consider adding graphics at the begi...

Recce For my TV ad, I have decided to film this in one location, which would be a casual house. This would be due to how it links to my idea, which includes the representatives of two siblings, which would connote the idea that they live in the same house. In a non-covid world, I would have the house as the main location. This would be due to how a house has a lot of rooms and this would be great for the two representatives to use the rooms to look for the missing item, which is a phone. The house also includes a kitchen, and considering how the kitchen includes food, this would be a great place for the chocolate to be presented. Also, the representatives would be able to move freely around the rooms to look for the phone and this would mainly be in the living room, which is where the first scene takes place. In a covid world, I would proceed to use the same location for the TV ad. There wouldn't be a mass change in terms of where I do it, however, there would be some form of soc...

Evaluation of the Pitch

In terms of presenting my pitch, the great thing was the fact that I was able to look at the audience and speak very clearly. Also, when presenting, I mostly stood facing forwards, which conveyed that I knew what I was talking about and that I didn’t need to read anything off the board. However, there were times when I had to face the board when I was changing slides and I had to read a bit off the keywords to know what part that I am talking about.  If I was to do the pitch again, I would maybe project my voice a bit louder to convey to the audience that I am confident in my idea and that I know that it is a great one.  In terms of the PowerPoint itself, each slides only had a few words as I am talking about my idea and that I am not reading off the board. The words includes were keywords which presented what point I was talking about e.g. location. Also, I included images on some slides to convey to the audience how each element of the product will look like. An example woul...

My final idea

Due to the focus group, I have come to the conclusion that the idea that I have chosen is Idea 1. This would be due to how It involves only two people in the ad and the location is where there is a lot of space, considering the fact that there will be a need of social distancing measures that will need to be put in place for the ad. Also, considering the fact that it is a 30 second ad, I am confident on this one as I can input the right music for when the chocolate bar is first shown in the ad. Also, members of the focus has talked about the interest of the two representative being related, in which in this advert, they are siblings.  Based on what the people in the focus group has said, I have decided to not go any further with my other two ideas. This would be due to how the ideas may be compared to other ads that has used similar ideas, such as the second one in which a man tells his friend not to eat the snack in the fridge. Also, members of the focus group has mentioned about ...

Focus group analysis

Idea 1 Members of the focus group have expressed how the idea had a good storyline, leading to the chocolate making an appearance. Also, they said how they like the idea of having the representative having a close relationship.  Idea 2 The members of the focus group have said how they liked the idea of having the chocolate being labeled as a special snack in the advert as the audience would be able to point that out. However, they have said about how this idea may be similar to other adverts which promote other products and this would be against my creativity. Idea 3 For this idea, the members of the jury expressed how they liked the idea of having the chocolate making someone happy, giving the idea to the audience that the chocolate is really nice and that people enjoy eating it. However, as energetic as this idea may be, this may not be able to reach the target audience, and that I would need to make sure that the music played would be appropriate for this ad.

Ideas videos

This video is me presenting my first idea to the audience. I talk about what will be presented in the TV ad, which would be the storyline that leads up to the chocolate being presented and the title of the chocolate being presented at the end.  In this video, I spoke about my second idea. I spoke about my storyline of the TV ad and how the storyline would lead to the chocolate appearing on screen and being the main attention of it.  In this video, I spoke about my third idea. I spoke about my storyline, which includes a father and son narrative, which would eventually lead to the chocolate being presented. I also speak on the location which I will be using for the ad. In this video, I asked some questions about my ideas, along with the people who was part of the focus group asking me some questions in response to the ideas that I had. These questions helped give me the conclusion of which idea I am gonna choose.

Unit 21 - focus group questions

Idea 1 What do you like about the idea?  Was there anything you didn’t understand about the idea?  What would you change about the idea?  Would you accept the idea?  What would you add to the idea?  Idea 2 What do you like about the idea?  What is your first call to action after hearing the idea?  What elements make you not like the idea?  Would you want to have the chocolate at all after seeing the ad?  Would you recommend this ad to other people?  Do you think it targets the audience?  Idea 3 What did you like about the idea?  Have you ever eaten the product? Is the idea of this ad as frat as the other Cadbury ad?  What do you think of this idea?  What things push you away from the idea?  What advice would you give about this idea?

Idea number 3

Storyline - Dad buys chocolate for his son, but it was the wrong one. The son expresses his unhappiness towards this and the Dad says he will buy it for him during his shopping. The son, who really wants chocolate, decides to try the chocolate, only to then like it. The ad then presents the chocolate in the packet, along with the Twirl inside, and presenting the information about it. There will be a background music that will be played when the chocolate is presented. Just  before the advert ends, it presents the Dad buying his son the chocolate he wanted, only for his son to say that he prefers the Twirl chocolate  Representation - caring dad who is willing to buy his son exactly what he wants and a nagging son who is willing to make a huge reaction if things don't go his way, such as not getting the right chocolate. Conventions of a TV ad - diegetic sound used for the dialogue as the father will be speaking to his son about getting him another chocolate and the son will be e...

Idea number 2

Storyline - Man tells friend not to eat a special snack, however, he doesn't tell him what he is specifically talking about, making his friend wonder that it may just be a sandwich. The friend goes to find something to eat, only to see the chocolate bar and upon not knowing that it is a special snack, he eats it. The ad will then show the information about the chocolate and will conclude with the friend taking the chocolate and not knowing that there was a note which said not to take it and eat it Representation - One strict friend who doesn't appreciate things being taken from him without permission and one respectful friend who tries to respect his friend's wishes Conventions of a TV ad - Close up of the chocolate bar, the sound effect of the chocolate bar is broken into two, diegetic sound for the dialogue Convention of a print ad - Logo placed on the top of the print ad, the image of the twirl inside the chocolate placed in the middle of the print ad at the top angle of...
